This is a wonderful state park for a hike, and today was a nice, cloudy and sometimes rainy, day to spend here. We set out heading towards the west end of the park and found some mud near the Willamette River that was easy, but slippery, to go around. We then turned around and headed towards the historic Butteville store. There were some great views of the Willamette River and Champoeg Creek during the hike. On the way we encountered hail and a nice downpour! We didn’t make it to the store as we needed to get back home.
