Tryon Creek State Park Hike

Hike Distance: 8.1 miles

Elevation Gain: 1053 feet

A cloudy day that never turned to rain, but the cool weather made the hike enjoyable.  It wasn’t quite as crowded as expected, given that it was Mothers Day.  My wife was in Chicago, visiting her parents, and would be back tonight.

I was expecting to make a large loop from the main parking area towards the Iron Mountain Trail, via the bike trail, but the plans were thwarted.  There was a sign for an active landslide that closed the connector trail, and I wasn’t about to risk the danger.  I ended up turning around and did a small loop on the law school side of the park.
