It started out cool in Vancouver but was already getting warm when we arrived at the TH. This was a family hike and the heat, along with the elevation gain, caused many in our group to feel like this was a death march (luckily not me). We didn’t start seeing other hikers until we reached the Hardy Creek picnic area, and it was a bit crowded for us so we continued onward. By the time we reached the saddle it was quite hot out, but there was plenty of wind to cool us down. The views were spectacular, and we spent some time taking pictures and talking. The return hike was quite a bit better since it was past the peak heat and we were expending less energy to descend. A fantastic day!
