Another adventure in Lacamas Park and with very few people on the trails. I investigated some trails on the west side of the park near a grammar school and it seems to give access to the upper falls, which is how the kids access it in the summer, I presume?
There is so much equipment noise emanating from the development on the north side of the park that it’s disturbing. I was able to see one area, from the trail, where the tractors were moving huge amounts of earth and covering what once was beautiful landscape. It’s so depressing how fast the city of Camas is developing new subdivisions, and we’re so powerless. We’re seeing the PNW transform from the remote beautiful area it was to an overcrowded place like California. A pity it can’t remain a more secluded place that most people visit and then go home.
