My son wanted to hike in the Mt. Hood area so we went on the same hike, in the Twin Lakes area, as we had done last week. This was quite a different hike due to the much improved weather and warmer temperatures. As a result, there were a large number of people camping at Lower Twin Lake, and it was not enjoyable due to the loud kids and smoke from fires that were lit. The lakes were just as beautiful but the experience didn’t come close to the joy of the previous week.
We didn’t stay at the lower Twin Lake for long, and so headed out to Upper Twin Lake. It was much less crowded there but a small group had an unleashed dog that was running all over the place.
Once we headed north of Upper Twin Lake our experience became much better. There were much fewer people and all the dogs we saw were on leashes. Thankfully, the day ended on a good note!
