A beautiful day on the PCT south of Frog Lake in the Mt. Hood National Forest. My wife and I met five very special thru-hikers and handed out plenty of Oreo Cookies and Starbucks Via Coffee packets.
We met Mittens and The Kid hiking NOBO and talked for quite a while. This was a more relaxed day for them and they were heading up to Timberline Lodge, and looking forward to the famous all-you-can-eat buffet. They mentioned tough conditions in the Sierra’s with water crossing. The Kid was caught in a landslide and had quite the bruise on his ankle. Thankfully, he’s healing well!
We then were fortunate to meet Atlas and Sequi (short for Sequoia), who traveled all the way from Germany to hike the PCT. Atlas and Sequi were also headed NOBO. They were also targeting the buffet at Timberline Lodge.
Lastly, on the way back to the TH, we met Walking Dutchman, from the Netherlands, hiking SOBO. He was fortunate to meet two experienced hikers, partner with them for two weeks, and they shared all their trail knowledge with him, along with hosting him at their home. Very special kind of Trail Angels (hope I got this story straight?).
