This hike was such a delight as it rained for the last half of the hike! 🙂 We meandered around the trail system, and visited the beach for a while, before heading out toward Cape Falcon. The beach was quite crowded, with surf boarders, but still a beautiful sight. Our hike to Cape Falcon was cut short after a couple, heading back to the TH, told us about a yellow-jacket nest. The man was stung three times and the woman once. We gave them both Benadryl, which they appreciated. We headed forward until we saw the nest, and then just turned around. On our way back we warned everyone heading out to the Cape about the nest, of which everyone was thankful. There were many hikers, heading back to the TH, that were also stung, so we felt good about our decision!
