Forest Road Hike near Kalama, WA

Hike Distance: 6.7 miles      Yearly Hike Distance: 1262.5 miles

Elevation Gain: 1095 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 132883 feet

I’m starting to do some forest road walks just to change things around a bit, and do something a bit different.  This area has a significant amount of logging going on and was a bit depressing since most of the trees are small and in various stages of growth.  I’ll include some pictures of these areas, from time to time, but it may not be worth posting many.

The main advantage of these areas is that they will be located in Washington and don’t require us to drive in Portland during rush hour.  Also, now that the Columbia River Gorge has been burned to a crisp, and will be likely closed until next spring/summer, I need other places to temporarily go.
