I initially intended to go on a different hike in the area but fell back on this lovely place. I spent more time meandering around than usual and didn’t venture very far from the parking area.
First, I went up towards the bridge and then took a trail down to the south access to Lewis River. There happen to be a couple hopping from rock to rock, but they were far away. It’s an area I never visited before and was very peaceful.
Next I headed back and did the loop that included Yacolt Falls. This is a fantastic short loop, and was devoid of people. Yacolt Creek and the Falls were amazing.
Lastly, I hiked the Murphy Grade trail all the way to the Bell’s Mt. Trail.
It was a wonderful day and I got the chance to take many pictures. I also spent more time just enjoying the nice day!
