Battleground Lake State Park Hike

Hike Distance: 5.4 miles      Yearly Hike Distance: 1405.6 miles

Elevation Gain: 750 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 149449 feet

I got out late and was going to head out to Lacamas Lake but Google traffic turned me off to this idea.  Instead, I headed out to Battleground Lake, and wasn’t disappointed!

There were only a few rain drops falling when I got to the parking lot, but that changed as the time passed.  The mood was so fantastic, and with no people on the trail the solitude just improved the surreal experience.

I was testing out my new Samsung Note 8 Smartphone, which has a dual camera and is water resistant.  So far, I’m very pleased with the performance and picture quality.  The pictures in the trip report are from this device, so you can decide for yourself.

I did a complete a loop around the lake and included some additional trails to extend the hike length.  It wasn’t surprising that the park was almost empty, given the season and weather.  It’s always an improved experience to visit normally crowded areas, for the summer season, on the off season.  A truly great day!
