Burnt Bridge Creek & David Douglas Park Hike

Hike Distance: 6.2 miles      Yearly Hike Distance: 1532.2 miles

Elevation Gain: 484 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 165148 feet

I parked near Meadowbrook Marsh Park, and hiked west from there.  Very few people on the trail, which made it that much more pleasant!  There is an access road, off Andreesen Rd., that you climb up. heading south on the sidewalk you’ll find an access trail into David Douglas Park.  The access trail is extremely nice and it’s forested for the next several tenths of a mile.

I headed up a side trail that leads to Van Fleet Park.  I walked across Van Fleet Park and found an access trail back into the forested main trail in David Douglas Park.  Continuing through the forested area I emerged into the sports area of the park.  I then walked around the perimeter of David Douglas Park.  I then accessed another spur trail on the NW side of the park, which led back down to the main forested trail.

Heading back to the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail, I headed west and crossed Andreesen Road.  I quickly left the main trail and walked along the mowed areas of the park.  I was able to complete a large loop before heading back to the TH.

Such a wonderful day with very few people seen!
