Forest Road Hike

Hike Distance: 8.6 miles      Yearly Hike Distance: 1646.1 miles

Elevation Gain: 1869 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 179824 feet

It started out cold but my constant elevation gain kept me warm.  It turned sunny at the end of the hike and views of snow on the distant mountains could be seen.  I didn’t see anybody today but didn’t expect to since it’s a weekday. 🙂

I was hoping for some epic hiking for the end of the year but Carol needs to have hand surgery next week. 😦  She can still hike but we will need to be careful since she won’t be able to use her right hand, or carry a hiking stick.  It is expected to take about 12 weeks to completely heal and gain full use of her hand (actually arthritis of the thumb is the culprit).  We’ll need to be a bit more creative and flexible until the recovery is complete.
