Whipple Creek Loop Hike & Fairgrounds Park via Interconnect Trail

Hike Distance: 7.0 miles      Yearly Hike Distance: 1681.8 miles

Elevation Gain: 1038 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 185915 feet

At first I was going to just make a loop around Whipple Creek Park but changed my mind rather quickly.  I headed out east toward the horse stables and then crossed the road onto the Interconnect Trail.  This trail leads across a large field and into a forested area.  I love this forested area as it winds around towards the Fairgrounds Park.  The Clark County Fairgrounds Park is a nice family destination with a paved trail that loops around it.   There is also a nice children’s playground and parking area.

After looping around the park I headed back to Whipple Creek Park and looped around it.  The light was diminishing quickly under the canopy.  It was cold, under the forested canopy, but quite refreshing!  Very few people on the trail but I did see some people on horseback.

A very nice day for a hike. 🙂
