Forest Road Hike

Elevation Gain: 754 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 195082 feet

A nice hike under the canopy.  Drizzle was on the menu and quite enjoyable too.  Carol is now joining me for all the hikes and we’re having a great time. 🙂

Update:  I forgot to mention that I figured out what was causing my Plantar Fascitis pain, that sent me to the Orthopedist.  It turns out I have a green Superfeet in my Lowa Renegade high top hiking boots.  These inserts are for shoes up to size 11, and my new boot size is 11.5!!!  The inserts were shifting forward and digging into my heel.  I didn’t notice this because I wear Wright socks as the first layer and REI Expedition socks (extremely thick) for the second layer, which appears to hide the source of my issue.  I wore a pair of Merrell low-top hiking boots and did very well. I’m hoping the feeling in my heel disappears with time?  Still, I feel relieved that the cause is understood and there is a path to a quick recovery. 🙂
