Forest Road Hike

Hike Distance: 8.6 miles      Yearly Hike Distance: 128.3 miles

Elevation Gain: 816 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 19369 feet

So we decided to do a loop hike on this forest road and ran into what was a recently logged area.  The real issue was the amount of mud on the road that we had to maneuver around.  In addition to the mud, it was raining (off and on), and small streams had filled every low point on the road.  At times we almost felt our boots would be sucked off our feet. 🙂

The most exciting part of the hike was when a bobcat (I believe that’s what it was?) raced across the road in front of us!  We’d never seen a cat in the wild and this was just so awesome! Much too quick to get pictures though. 😦

At the end of the day it started to clear, so we got some nice views of the surrounding forest from this cleared area on the road.  An awesome day in the fresh air.
