What a strange day it was for the weather. First it rained, and then it snowed, and it snowed again, and then rained, and lastly the sun showed itself for a brief moment.
It was almost like a death march as I ascended up the road. Not the best of days for me but I pushed through it. When I finally reached the ridge I was feeling more energetic and the hike went smoothly from there
I started feeling well enough that I ended up going further than expected. I was also quite surprised at the elevation gain, after downloading the track to the computer. It’s nice to be able to push through the low energy times and finish up strong, which isn’t always possible.
I was also fortunate to see a couple of deer while up on the ridge, but wasn’t able to catch it on film.
This was definitely a great training day for the PCT section hike this summer, minus the warm sunny weather. 🙂
