Forest Road Hike

Hike Distance: 8.8 miles      Yearly Hike Distance: 1052.8 miles

Elevation Gain: 1143 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 139105 feet

When we left our house it was 73 degrees, and on the way it rose to 82 degrees.  Later in the drive it went back to 72 degrees, but it was only 66 degrees at the trailhead.  Who knows what the actual temperature was during the hike but it was definitely humid and felt warm. At the end of the hike we thought it would rain, but it didn’t.  It rained lightly on the drive home though.

The views on the road were beautiful and forest green permeated all the foliage.  There were plenty of flowers, primarily foxglove and daisies.  Not many mosquitoes but the flies were harassing us, but weren’t biting.

Definitely a nice day and we were able to complete a loop around the roads  There were many older roads that had plenty of tall grasses, which I’m not fond of foraging through.  We enjoyed the day and ended up having pizza after the hike.
