My son has a stress fracture in his shin and we needed to find a hike with no elevation gain. The Crown Zellerbach Trail is a nice option as it is nice forest scenery with little elevation gain. We parked just off the Scappoose-Vernonia hwy and headed west. The first thing we encountered were blackberry bushes lining the trail! They were so yummy and we spent quite a bit of time filling our stomachs. 🙂
We continued our walk and passed by some houses just off the trail and had some nice views of North Scappoose Creek. There wasn’t much water but it was still a nice sight to watch. We turned around at just over 3.5 miles out and headed back to the car, remembering to collect some blackberries to bring home. A very nice day to be out in the fresh air!
