I really wanted to hike on a trail on the east side of the Columbia River Gorge, but there was the possibility of freezing rain, so we went north to a better area for this type of weather. We’ve hiked this area before, and it’s a forested road with only one view. The interesting part of this area is the number of roads to hike. In fact, there are so many that the path I had originally chosen wasn’t done due to a wrong turn. The hike still turned out great, just not where I intended.
Luckily, the weather was fairly nice, with some clearing at the end of the day. It was cold enough to see some frozen water areas and frost on plants. The cold weather certainly makes it more pleasant to hike, and we didn’t sweat as a result of this. 🙂 A very nice weekend day.
