Forest Road Hike

Hike Distance: 8.4 miles      Yearly Hike Distance: 1850.5 miles

Elevation Gain: 1525 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 238422 feet

What an absolutely miserable rainy, cold and windy day.  Gosh how I love the Pacific Northwest!  This is an area we have hiked before, and it is close to the Toutle River in Washington.  I did get a picture of the river on our drive back home. 🙂

There was nothing very special about this hike other than the rotten weather (and some great forest scenery).  We were quite prepared and comfy in our clothing and rain gear.  That said, we still had to dry out all our clothing and equipment when we got home.   I certainly wouldn’t want to go backpacking in this kind of weather, and would be miserable in these conditions.  Maybe that’s why I’m a fair weather backpacker.  haha
