Such nasty weather filled with wind and rain. How lucky can I get to be in such awful weather, but enjoying myself immensely! When I arrived at the parking area I was greeted by a young woman whose battery had died. I gladly gave her a jump and suggested she go to The Battery Exchange for a new battery, as their service is excellent and the prices reasonable.
I soon headed out into the park but was a bit worried about the winds, and how the tops of the trees swayed. I just dismissed the possibility of a tree or limb falling on we and decided I was here for the duration. This hike was like others I’ve done here, going in a counterclockwise direction around the trail system.
At first there were only a few drops of rain but it increased to a constant downfall as the day progressed. I was glad that the wind died down as the day progressed, and I felt a bit safer. The best part about the hike was the mood there, and it felt like I was in the dark forest with creatures I couldn’t see. It really didn’t bother me, much, although I still look around and am more alert. I only saw one trail runner the entire day. 🙂 Such a great day to be in the fresh air!
