I saw my physical therapist today and he was optimistic about my back recovering from the previous hike back issues. I have to admit that I had some pretty good days but the last hike just hurt pretty bad. I’m trying to remain upbeat and will continue to stretch and do the exercises he prescribed. At the end of my session I agreed to limit my daily hiking distance to a maximum of six miles for a two month period. I won’t lie and say I took it lightly but understood this wasn’t a death sentence, and would possibly accelerate the healing process.
The hike today turned out to be very nice and although a bit cold, compliments of the wind, I had a great time. This sunny day gave me a nice but hazy view of three volcanoes! The high clouds also added to a nice effect when I took pictures of the sun reflecting on the Columbia River. The pictures mainly reflect my attempt to catch these reflections off the water.
I also took the time to try out my new Feuytech gimbal, which only works with my smartphone. I can tell that the video possibilities are extensive with this piece of equipment. I don’t have any movies to show during this hike but expect to release some clips as I gain experience!
