Boy, did I have a great time removing ivy from many of the trees. So much so that I’ve decided to buy some tools to easily and quickly remove the vines. Actually, what I mean, is that I can severe the vine around the circumference so that the ivy dies above that. I’ve already seen my handiwork on other trees that were rescued a few weeks ago. It takes a long time for the ivy to actually die but you can tell that the water and nutrients aren’t making it past the cuts by the way the leaves sag. I’m going to try and rescue at least 1-2 trees each time I visit a park with ivy!
I wound around the trail system a couple times and managed to go a bit further than I wanted. Unfortunately, I must have really done something wrong as my groin (on the same side as my bad SI joint) was in tremendous pain, after the hike. I know life is an adventure but this back issue is just getting worse, despite the physical therapy. What to do, what to do. Well, tomorrow is another day.
