Lewisville Park Hike

Hike Distance: 4.4 miles      Yearly Hike Distance: 300.4 miles

Elevation Gain: 489 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 33621 feet

A nice little jaunt around the periphery of Lewisville Park.  I actually forgot my Clark County Parks permit and had to pay for a day pass.  Not a big deal but I hate when that happens.

This really is a nice little park with a nice trail system.  It also has many great options for families and is quite popular in the summer.  Today was sunny but during the day the crowds aren’t here.

I was most surprised by the lower than expected water level of the Lewis River.  That said, all the water is currently being held in the snow pack.  With all the snow this year I expect the river will rise significantly when the temperatures rise.  Also of note was the gorgeous opal blue water color and clarity!  To me this water color is an indication of cleanliness, although I am no expert.  I could see the river bottom very clearly, which is also impressive!  Definitely a nice day and hike. 🙂
