Elevation Gain: 426 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 34047 feet

A nice little hike along the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail on a cold and snowy day!  In fact, It snowed much of the time but was too warm to stick much.  It’s amazing how it feels warmer while snowing than raining at higher temperatures.  I was very comfortable and prepared, so the weather only enhanced the experience!

I walked to Hazel Dell Ave. and then turned around.  I also explored the forested area, where side trails ascend to homes and roads.  I actually tried to make a loop using a street but decided I didn’t want to walk the neighborhood, and look like a homeless person.  I had to use my OnX software to see where the private properties were located, which is why I decided not to make a loop.

One thing of note was that I found a mail box that was meant for people to take and leave poetry!  I didn’t open the box but thought this was a very creative idea.  An urban trail like this seems to be a great place for something like this. 🙂

Saw about 10 people over the course of the hike still had quite a bit of solitude.  Still, it always seems difficult to find a place to pee in peace. haha  It’s been increasingly rare for me to get out in a snow storm and today was so satisfying.
