Battleground Lake State Park & Chelatchie Prairie Railroad Trail Hike

Hike Distance: 5.6 miles      Yearly Hike Distance: 347.4 miles

Elevation Gain: 571 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 38750 feet

Such a gorgeous day but I needed to take it easy.  The Chelatchie Prairie RR Trail is flat and easy on the back.  After completing it I headed for a loop around the outside loop of Battleground Lake.  I spent quite a bit of time working on severing ivy from climbing up the trees.  I included a photo of one tree that I was able to create a vine free ring around.  You can see just how invasive the ivy is on this tree. 😦   I’m not so sure removing ivy, this aggressively, is such a good idea for my back, so this will be the last day of using my sickle (for a while at least).
