I keep trying to reach Woodburn Falls but never seem to get there. So the first thing I did was to head out that way to finally visit this beautiful place. There was a huge amount of brush and plants draped across the trail and I spent some time clearing it. I stood for a while being mesmerized by the sight and sound of the falls.
I also went to the Natural Area to see if any Camas Lilies were blooming. It was long past any blooming and most had gone to seed. However, there were a few pockets of Camas Lilies still blooming, and they were fantastic! Such a small and delicate flower with amazing color!
There were other beautiful flowers on display but I only know the name of the tall slender Lupine. I personally have a tough time taking compelling scenic pictures of flowers, for some reason. I think that being low to the ground is a challenge to my photographic composition skills.
I didn’t expect much rain but it came down pretty hard for a while. I had to stop and put on my rain gear, but forgot my hat. ugh. My rain jacket hood works okay, and did the job, but isn’t optimal. I couldn’t use my Sony RX100 for fear that it would get wet and damaged, so all my photos were from my Samsung phone.
