My wife and I thought we’d provide some trail magic while on our hike south of Cascade Locks, toward Dry Creek Falls. Almost immediately we met a thru-hiker by the name of “Cacao”! After some discussion we found out she skipped the Sierra’s and went to Lassen National Park, and now she’s completed Oregon! We wished her a safe journey as she heads into Washington! No other thru-hikers were seen the entire day, but we were fortunate to meet her.
We visited Dry Creek Falls for a short time, and then continued our hike south on the PCT towards The Pinnacles. I was feeling rather tired today so we turned around before reaching The Pinnacles. The PCT was almost completely devoid of people, once we continued southbound past the intersection that went to Dry Creek Falls.
The weather was interesting today as there seemed to be a threat of storms during much of the hike. There was no forecast for storms but we did get a few drops falling on us. The sky cleared up somewhat later in the day.
