I had the flu shot last night and am a bit tired as a result. That’s not uncommon for me, and I got out late so I could rest a bit more in the morning.
This was a typical hike around the Whipple Creek Park area, and there were two highlights from today. First, I got to meet and have a wonderful conversation with a woman named Terese (sorry if the spelling is wrong?). We walked together for a bit and had some great discussion on many topics, of which I won’t bore you with.
The second significant occurrence today was when I passed by the Whipple Creek mill, which is being restored. They are doing a fantastic job on the restoration, but there still appears to be much more to complete. Enough progress has been made so that the trail is now open to skirt around the mill. I didn’t expect the trail to be open and was pleasantly surprised!
This hike added to my total yearly mileage and enabled me to pass by my fourth highest yearly total. It will be tough to exceed the next higher mileage year, which was at 1809.6 miles, but considering my back issues I’m not disappointed.
Also relating to my mileage goal, I only have about 45 miles before I drop below 10,000 remaining miles in my goal. The circumference of the earth is 24,901 miles so that gives you an idea of where I’m at.
