Forest Road Hike

Hike Distance: 8.3 miles      Yearly Hike Distance: 965.6 miles

Elevation Gain: 1341 feet      Yearly Elevation Gain: 142046 feet

Kind of warm and humid but that won’t stop us from hiking, usually. haha  The roads were a bit busier than usual, and we pulled out our face masks when we bumped into another hiker.  Thankfully, we never came closer than about 20 feet, since we were at a spacious road intersection.

The highlight of the hike was a small creek.  I know we need to enjoy the little things, and we stopped to soak in the view of this beautiful place.  We just love the sound of rushing water and the smell of the air around the water.  It’s too bad there was no place to sit down along the creek, so we didn’t stay long.

Again, the flowers, particularly the Foxglove, was in profusion.  The colors vary from white to purple, and every combination of those colors.  The Foxglove flowers are so stark in their appearance, and I’ll bet much more vibrant if viewed in the UV spectrum (like insects see).

A nice day for us but we were saddened by the huge number of new Corona Virus cases today.  We fear this pandemic will last for a very long time, and the isolation from family and other people is tough for us. 😦  We hope everything is going okay for all of you, and stay safe!
